Real time production monitoring at Karnic factory

 Η Karnic το γνωστό κυπριακό ναυπηγείο έχει πολύ πρόσφατα εισαγάγει ένα πολύ μοντέρνο και σύγχρονο σύστημα παραγωγής στις λειτουργίες του με στόχο να ενισχύσει και να αυξήσει την απόδοση και την ακρίβεια της λεπτομέριας καθόλη την παραγωγική της γραμμή. Αυτό είναι ένα σύστημα πραγματικού χρόνου με υπολογιστές που παρακολουθεί τις διαδικασίες σε κάθε στάδιο παραγωγής με αντίστοιχο οπτικό σύμβολο για την κατάσταση κάθε διαδικασίας δίδοντας οδηγίες στο προσωπικό και εξασφαλίζοντας υψηλές προδιαγραφές ποιότητας. The renowned Cypriot boat manufacturer, Karnic, has very recently introduced a very modern and sophisticated production system in its operations to enhance and increase efficiency and accuracy throughout its overall production line. This is a real time computer assist program that monitors operations in every stage of production with visual representation of the state of operations providing instructions to the staff and securing the high quality standards. Over the last days Karnic has made a further step towards fulfilling their objective to develop one of the most modern, accurate and efficient production systems in the marine industry, by installing an additional new system for monitoring their production. 

The system relies on the continuous processing of the information collected from computer stations along the production lines to calculate the work progress at every stage. The results are displayed on a multi-monitor screen located centrally in the assembly hall for every product order within the specified production schedule period. All results are displayed in a simplified form using basic colour coding like 'red' for non-started operations in the stage and 'green' for complete. 

The new real time production monitoring system is essentially an additional feature of 'Smart Production Controller', an Enterprise Resource Management software developed by the company and which was introduced two years ago. The production module of Smart Production Controller is based on the use of computer stations at all production line stages to provide step-by-step technical instructions to staff, enforce quality standards and simultaneously collect information on process times to evaluate efficiency and performance.
