Πανελλήνιο Πρωτάθλημα Φουσκωτών Σκαφών Viper Ribs 2012. Χανιά - Hellenic Viper Ribs Championship 2012- Chania

 Η τελική 3η αγωνιστική του Πανελληνίου Πρωταθλήματος Φουσκωτών Σκαφών Viper Ribs 2012 διεξήχθει στα πανέμορφα Χανιά, μια εκδήλωση που επίσης περιελάμβανε την τελετή λήξης του θεσμού. Ως ένας οπαδός των αγώνων δεν μπορούσα να χάσω την ευκαιρία να επισκεφτώ το αγαπημένο μου μέρος για να παρακολουθήσω αυτό το διήμερο γεγονός που έλαβε χώρα το Σαββατοκύριακο 15-16 Σεπτεμβρίου.

The final 3th phase of the Hellenic Viper Ribs Championship 2012 was hosted at the magnificent town of Chania, Crete an event which also included the closing ceremony of this year Championship. As a fan of the races myself  I could n’t had missed the chance of visiting my loving place to watch this two day event which took place on the weekend 15-16th September. 

 Οι αγώνες οργανώθηκαν και εκτελέστηκαν από την Λέσχη Φουσκωτών Σκαφών Χανίων (Λ.Φ.Σ.Χ.) κάτω από την συνεχή επίβλεψη των αλυταρχών Στέφανου Βενετάκη και Γιώργου Κελαϊδή με την βοήθεια όλων των μελών της λέσχης προκειμένου να διασφαλίσουν την επιτυχή έκβαση της εκδήλωσης. Την προσπάθεια στήριξαν οι τοπικοί φορείς ανάμεσα τους ο Δήμος Χανίων, το Δημοτικό Λιμενικό Ταμείο και ο Δήμος Πλατανιά, μαζί με πολλούς χορηγούς. Έτσι όλα εξελίχθηκαν ομαλά και χωρίς απρόοπτα παρά τις κάπως αντίξοες καιρικές συνθήκες πιο έντονες την Κυριακή 16 Σεπτεμβρίου στην διάρκεια του αγώνα Offshore.

The races were organized and directed by the Chania Rib Club under the watchful eyes of the event leaders Stefanos Venetakis and George kelaidis helped by all other members of this club in order to ensure the successful outcome of the event. The whole venture was supported by the several local authorities including the Municipalities of Chania and Platanias and the Port authorities alongside many sponsors. So everything went smoothly and in an orderly way despite the pretty rough weather conditions more intense on Sunday 16th September during the Offshore race.

Μια μέρα πριν την έναρξη των αγώνων, ο τεχνικός έλεγχος των διαγωνιζομένων σκαφών έλαβε χώρα στο Park Ferme κοντά στο Παλαιό Λιμάνι των Χανίων και την ίδια νύχτα τα πληρώματα ενημερώθηκαν για τις έδρες των αγώνων, τις καιρικές προβλέψεις και τους κανονισμούς στο ανακαινισμένο ενετικό κτήριο του  ΚΑΜ. Μια όμορφη συγκέντρωση με όλους τους συμμετέχοντες και υποστηρικτές με μπουφέ ακολούθησε κατόπιν στο μπαρ “Επιπλέων”. Αργά το βράδυ κατέληξα στο ξενοδοχείο μου το πολυτελές Creta Paradise που βρίσκεται στον Πλατανιά όπου όλα τα πληρώματα, οι δημοσιογράφοι και όλοι οι υποστηρικτές της εκδήλωσης φιλοξενήθηκαν.

A day before the beginning of the races, the technical inspection of the racing boats was held at the Park Ferme nearby the picturesque Old Harbor of Chania and the same night the crews were briefed about the racing terrains, the weather forecast and the regulations at the renovated venetian building of KAM. A nice party for all participants and contributors with a buffet took place at the bar Epipleon shortly after. Late at night I ended up in my hotel the luxurious Creta Paradise situated at Platanias where all crews, journalists and other contributors of the event were also hosted.

Λίγο μετά τις 12:00 την επόμενο ημέρα (Σάββατο) ο αγώνας Circuit έλαβε χώρα στον κόλπο του Κουμ Καπί επιτρέποντας σ’ ένα μεγάλο πλήθος θεατών να συγκεντρωθεί κατά μήκος της παραλίας  πολλοί από αυτούς ήδη καθήμενοι στις καφετέριες. Τα σκάφη εκτελούσαν θεαματικά πηδήματα πάνω από τα κύματα στην διεκδίκηση της νίκης την οποία στην κατηγορία Rib Sport 200hp το Sea Quest 760 (No 7) των Στέργου Γιαννά και Μιχάλη Σιφωνιού εξασφάλισε παίρνοντας την πρώτη θέση. Η δεύτερη θέση κατακτήθηκε από το Attack 600 (No 11)  των Κυριάκου Αγγελάκη και Γιάννη Καμπούρη ενώ οι Βασίλης Καλοτεράκης και Θεόδωρος Πολύμερος με το Apache τους 696 (No12) τερμάτισαν τρίτοι. 

Το Sea Quest 760 των Στέργου Γιαννά και Μιχάλη Σιφονιού πήρε δύο πρώτες νίκες. The Sea Quest 760 of Stergos Giannas & Michael Siphonios made it to the top of the podium twice.

 A bit after 12:00 next day (Saturday) the Circuit race took place at the bay of Koum Kapi enabling a big ground of spectators to gather along its coastal area many of them seated in the cafes. The boats were performing spectacular jumps above of the waves in their quest for victory which in the Rib Sport 200hp Class the Sea Quest 760 (No 7) of Stergos Giannas and Michael Siphonios secured the first place. The second place was taken by the Attack 600 (No 11) of Kyriakos Aggelakis and Kambouris Giannis while Vassilis Kaloterakis and Theodoros Polymeros with their Apache 696 (No 12) came third.

Ο Μιχάλης Κέλης με τον συνοδηγό του Πάρη Διακοφιλιππή σκληροί αντίπαλοι και με μεγάλη δυνατότητα να βρεθούν στην τριάδα αναγκάστηκαν να εγκαταλείψουν τον αγώνα όταν το σκάφος τους Rib Eye 820 υπέστη ζημιά.

 Michalis Kelis with his co-driver Paris Diakophilippis tough competitors and with a high potential to win a place in the podium had to abandon the race after their Ribeye 820 suffered damage.

 Οι Σταύρος Λουλουργάς και Τριαντάφυλλος Κενενούνης (Olympic E2 820) ανακυρήχθηκαν οι πρωταθλητές στην κατηγορία Super Sport 350hp. Stavros Loulourgas & Triantaphyllos Kenenounis (Olympic E2 820)  were announced the champions in the Super Sport 350hp class.

Στον ίδιο αγώνα στην κατηγορία Rib Super Sport 350hp ο έμπειρος οδηγός Σταύρος Λουλουργάς μαζί με επί μακρόν τον συνοδηγό του Τριαντάφυλλο Κενενούνη κατέκτησαν την πρώτη θέση παίρνοντας κεφάλι από την αρχή με το νέο τους Olympic E2 820R (No 4). H Δεύτερη θέση διεκδικήθηκε πολύ έντονα από τρία σκάφη, τα δύο Olympic E2 820R των Ηρακλή Μποτζολάκη και Μιχάλη Χαραλαμπάκη (Νο 2) και των Βαγγέλη Σέρρα και Χρήστου Γκάτσου (Νο 5) και του Technohull 777 (No 1) των Παναγιώτη Σημαιοφορίδη και Αρτέμιδος Κολούμπα (η μόνη γυναίκα συνοδηγός).

In the same race at the Rib Super Sport 350hp Class the experienced driver Stravros Loulourgas together with his for long co-driver Triantaphyllos kenenounis conquered the first place unchallenged with their new Olympic E2 820R (No 4). The second place was very tightly pursued by three boats, the two other Olympic E2 820R  of Helakles Bontzolakis and Micheal Charalabakis (No 2), and of  Vaggelis Serras and Christos Gatsos (No 5) and the Technohull 777 (No 1) of Panagiotis Simeophoridis and Artemis Koloumba (the only female participant).

Η τελευταία υπέστη ελαφρό τραυματισμό κατά την διάρκεια του αγώνα και ο οδηγός αποφάσισε να οδηγήσει το σκάφος του λιγότερο επιθετικά μένοντας πίσω από τον  Ηρακλή Μποτζολάκη που πήρε  την δεύτερη θέση λίγο πιο πίσω από τον Λουλουργά ενώ ο  Σέρρας  ήλθε τρίτος.

 Το νεαρό πλήρωμα Παναγιώτης Σημαιοφορίδης και Άρτεμις Κολούμπα κέρδισαν την 3η θέση στο πρωτάθλημα (Super Sport 350hp). The young crew Panagiotis Simeophorides & Artemis Koloumba won the 3th place of the Championship (Super Sport 350hp). 

The latter person (Kouloumba) suffered mild injuries during the race and the driver decided to drive the boat less aggressively giving the advantage to Helakles Bontzolakis to take the second place right after Loulourgas while Serras became the third winner. 

Μιχάλης Κέλης και Πάρης Διακοφιλιππής: Οχι τόσο τυχεροί αυτή την φορά όμως στέφηκαν τρίτοι στο Πρωτάθλημα (Sport 200hp). Michalis Kelis & Paris Diakophilippis: no so lucky this time managed to become the 3th winner in this Champinoship (Sport 200hp). 

 Αξίζει να αναφέρω ότι σ’ αυτό το Πρωτάθλημα δύο πρώην συνοδηγοί αποφάσισαν να κυνηγήσουν το δρόμο της επιτυχίας μέσα από το πιλοτήριο: ο Παναγιώτης Σημαιοφορίδης ο συνοδηγός του Γιάννη Λούλη στην περυσινή διοργάνωση και ο Βασίλης Καλοτεράκης συνοδηγός του Νίκου Λάσκαρη δύο χρόνια πριν.

 Its worthwhile mentioning that in this championship two former co-drivers decided to pursue  their way to success from inside the cockpit: Panagiotis Simeophoridis the co-driver of Giannis Loulis during last year and Vassilis Kaloterakis the co-driver of Nikos Laskaris a couple of year ago.

Στην διάρκεια της νύκτας όλοι οι συμμετέχοντες, οργανωτές, υποστηρικτές και φίλοι συγκεντρώθηκαν στο μπαρ “Αρσενάλι”  όπου προσφέρθηκαν ποτά και εδέσματα σ’ ένα πολύ όμορφο ανοικτό χώρο με φόντο το Ενετικό Λιμάνι. Κατόπιν, δεν μπορούσα να αντισταθώ στο να περιηγηθώ στην Παλαιά Πόλη απολαμβάνοντας ακόμα περισσότερο την νυκτερινή ζωή της.

 Οι Μποτζολάκης και Χαραλαμπάκης πανυγηρίζουν την νίκη τους στον αγώνα Offshore. Boztolakis & Charalabakis are celebrating their victory on the Offshore race.

During the night all participants, organizers, contributors and friends were gathered at the bar Arsenali at the Old Harbor where drinks and snacks were served on a very pleasant open air environment on the waterfront of Venetian Harbor. After that I could n’t help myself from wandering at the beautiful Old Town enjoying more of its nightlife.

Την επόμενη ημέρα περίπου την ίδια ώρα όπως και την προηγούμενη ξεκίνησε ο αγώνας Offshore έξω από το Παλαιό Λιμάνι (Φάρος) σε μια κυματώδη θάλασσα και κάτω από ένα γκρι ουρανό καθιστώντας τις συνθήκες οδήγησης δυσκολότερες και δοκιμάζοντας τις αντοχές των πληρωμάτων. Έτσι, στην κατηγορία Super Sport 350hp  ο νεαρός οδηγός από τα Χανιά Ηρακλής Μποτζολάκης με τον συνοδηγό του Μιχάλη Χαραλαμπάκη στέφηκαν πρώτοι νικητές διαρκώς καταδιωκόμενοι από τους Σταμάτη Νιοκαστρίτη και Μανώλη Κουντάντο που ήλθαν δεύτεροι με το Top Line Corsair 29 (No 13). Η τρίτη θέση κατακτήθηκε για ακόμα μια φορά από τους Βαγγέλη Σέρρα και Χρήστο Γκάτσο. Αυτή τη φορά ο Σταύρος Λουλουργάς και ο Τριαντάφυλλο Κενενούνης τερμάτισαν τέταρτοι όμως λόγω της συνολικής τους επιτυχημένης πορείας κατόρθωσαν να κατακτήσουν την πρώτη θέση στο Πρωτάθλημα.

Next day around the same time as the day before the Offshore Race began outside the Old Harbor (Lighthouse) at a wavy sea and under a grey sky making the driving conditions harder for the crews and testing their endurance. So, in the Super Sport Class the young driver from Chania Herakles Bontzolakis with co-driver Michael Charalambakis became the first victor, constantly pursued by Stamatis Niokastritis and Manolis Kountantos who ended up at  the second place with their Topline Corsair 29 (No 13). The third place was taken once again by Vaggelis Serras and Christos Gatsos. This time Stavros Loulourgas and Triantaphyllos Kenenounis finished at the fourth place however due to their overall successful performance they managed to conquer the top of the podium in this Championship. 

Στην μικρότερη κατηγορία Sport 200hp οι Στέργος Γιαννάς και Μιχάλης Σιφωνιός αναδείχθηκαν ξανά πρώτοι νικητές λαμβάνοντας ταυτόχρονα την δεύτερη θέση στο Πρωτάθλημα στην κατηγορία αυτή ενώ οι Βασίλης Καλοτεράκης και Κυριάκος Αγγελάκης αντάλλαξαν τις θέσεις που πήραν την προηγούμενη ημέρα.

In the smaller Sport 200hp Class category Stergos Giannas and Michael Siphonios were again the first winners also acquiring on aggregate the second place of the Championship in this Class while  Vassilis Kaloterakis and Kyriakos Aggelakis traded the places they won the day before.  

 O Μανώλης Κτιστάκης ένας σπουδαίος οδηγός παρέα με τον συνοδηγό Τάσο Αναστασάκη δεν κατόρθωσε να μπει στην τριάδα. Manolis Ktistakis a great driver together with codriver Tassos Anastassakis could not make it to the podium this time.

Αργότερα το βράδυ η επίσημη δεξίωση της λήξης του Πρωταθλήματος έλαβε χώρα στο εστιατόριο club Πορτοκάλι στον Πλατανιά σε μια πολύ φιλική ατμόσφαιρα συνοδευόμενη με ζωντανή μουσική, χορευτικά συγκροτήματα που χόρεψαν παραδοσιακούς χορούς και βέβαια προσφέροντας φαγητά από τη εκλεκτή κριτική κουζίνα. Αυτό που επίσης ευχαριστήθηκα στα Χανιά ήταν το γεγονός ότι βρέθηκα με πολλούς φίλους εκεί, οδηγούς, οργανωτές, δημοσιογράφους, κατασκευαστές σκαφών καθώς και με κάποιους παλιούς  “κολλητούς” μου από εκεί. Τώρα, προσβλέπω σε ένα νέο και ακόμα πιο επιτυχημένο και ενδιαφέρον Πρωτάθλημα για το 2013.

Later at the evening the official closing ceremony of this Championship took place at the restaurant Portocali at Platanias in a very friendly atmosphere accompanied by the live music and local dancers and of course highlighted by the very tasty cretan food. What I also enjoyed in this event in Chania is the fact that I found many of my friends there, drivers, organizers, journalists, boat manufacturers, plus some old pals.  Now I am opting for a new and even more successful and interesting Championship for 2013.
