Αυτό το δελτίο τύπου που μου εστάλει από την γνωστή βρετανική κατασκευάστρια εταιρεία φουσκωτών σκαφών Scorpion αποκαλύπτει τα σχέδια της επιχείρησης να παρουσιάσει τα νέα της μοντέλα στο ερχόμενο Ναυτικό Σαλόνι του Southampton στις 16 Σεπτεμβρίου. SERKET 87 – NEW T-TOP BIMINI
Το Serket 87 αντικαθιστά το Serket 85. Κατασκευασμένο στην ίδια πλατφόρμα αλλά με νέα διαμόρφωση στο πρυμνιό καθιστικό του αυτό το μοντέλο που κινείται με δύο εξωλέμβιους κινητήρες έχει μια ευχάριστη μοντέρνα σχεδίαση και διακρίνεται για τις επιδόσεις, την ποιότητα και τις σχεδιαστικές γραμμές που καθορίζουν ένα φουσκωτό Scorpion. Το πακέτο περιλαμβάνει ένα προαιρετικό T-Top bimini (τέντα), μια επιφάνεια ηλιοθεραπείας, ένα ολοκληρωμένα διαμορφωμένο πίσω κατάστρωμα, ένα τραπέζι για την ενδιαίτηση, γενναιόδωρους αποθηκευτικούς χώρους και δυνατότητα φορτίου της τάξης των 2.800 kg. “The Serket 87 replaces the Serket 85; built in the same platform, but with a new aft seat arrangement. This twin outboard model has a flattering modern design and boasts the performance, quality and design elements that are expected of a Scorpion RIB. The package includes optional T-Top bimini, a sun pad, an integrated rear deck, picnic table, generous storage and a payload capacity of 2800kg.This particular model is very popular among Scorpion’s growing Mediterranean based customers.
Η συνολική του εμφάνιση απλά τονίζει την σχεδιαστική φινέτσα και γραμμή της Scorpion που συνδυάζονται με την εξαιρετική ποιότητα πλεύσης και την άρτια συμπεριφορά του στο νερό. Το συνολικό μήκος του είναι 8.7 m και υπάρχει η επιλογή για συγκεκριμένους κινητήρες που του ταιριάζουν. Είτε ένα ζεύγος Mercury Verado 200hp ή (ζεύγος) Suzuki 175hp. Αμφότερες επιλογές αποδίδουν το ίδιο και εναρμονίζονται πολύ καλά με το σκάφος. Άλλες επιλογές είναι διαθέσιμες κατόπιν αιτήματος.
The overall appearance simply emphasises Scorpion’s design finesse and flair matched with an outstanding ride quality and excellent sea keeping abilities. The overall length is 8.7m and there is a choice of standard fitted engines; either a pair of Mercury Verado 200hp, or Suzuki 175hp. Both options deliver a similar performance and are well balanced with the RIB. Other options are available by request.

SCORPION STRIKE SPORTING NEW COLOURS
Όταν τα καλύμματα τραβήχτηκαν χειροκροτήματα και επιθυμίες από τους διακεκριμένους επισκέπτες και τα Mέσα παρότρυναν να πέσει το σκάφος στο νερό στο περυσινό Ναυτικό Σαλόνι του Southampton. Από τότε το Strike έχει ολοκληρώσει δοκιμές στην θάλασσα, έχει δοκιμαστεί από τον διεθνή τύπο και τώρα βρίσκεται σε πλήρες στάδιο παραγωγής.

This my own posed comment concerning more elaborating background information on the Rib’s identity.
Το συγκεκριμένο 9μετρο φουσκωτό έχει κατασκευαστεί με γνώμονα την οικονομία και τις υψηλές ταχύτητες και με στόχο να προσφέρει άνετο ταξίδι και εξαιρετικό έλεγχο χειρισμού. Αποτελεί το προϊόν της συνεργασίας της βρετανικής εταιρείας με την ελληνική RIBCO που κατασκευάζει και διαθέτει τα Scorpion στην ελληνική αγορά, και στηρίζεται στην τροποποιημένη γάστρα του Scorpion 8.5 σχεδιασμένη από τον Lorne Campbell στην οποία προστέθηκε μπραγκέτο μισού μέτρου.
The 9meter STRIKE is a brilliant example of the best use of a Scorpion hull achieving outstanding performance from a single engine but maintaining comfort and excellent handling. The RIB uses a modified Scorpion 8.5 hull with steps by Lorne Campbell and incorporates a 50cms extended engine bracket. The design team set out to develop a Sports RIB that would perform as well as a twin engine but with only one engine.
Η γάστρα διαμορφώθηκε ύστερα από παρεμβάσεις και βελτιώσεις από την ελληνική εταιρεία κατόπιν πολλών δοκιμών με στόχο να ξεπερνά τους 60 κόμβους, ενώ τα σκάφη παραγωγής μπορούν να φτάνουν τους τους 55 κόμβους με μονό κινητήρα. Η ελληνική έκδοση του Strike είναι το ST9 όποτε τα σκάφη αυτά θα διατίθενται με αυτές τις ονομασίες και στις δύο χώρες.
This was in the interest of ecology and economy. Working in partnership with Scorpions Greek colleagues at RIBCO trials of hulls and set ups were started and the new hull was realized by the end of 2009. Three RIBs have been built in the UK, with the Greek market in mind and include a large storage locker and jockey seats. These RIBs have performed outstandingly well and with the right set up achieved speeds well over 60knots, the production versions are designed to make 55 knots or 60mph. A Greek version of Strike is now available in Greece and known as the ST9, so both the ST9 and Strike will be available in both countries.
